Multimedia performance for Aditya Birla Group award ceremony

Brief

Create an inspiring spectacle for a corporate award ceremony organized by Indian conglomerate Aditya Birla Group. The company, which employs over 133,000 people of 42 different nationalities, hosts the yearly Aditya Birla Awards for Outstanding Achievement.

Execution

Jointly with Freckled Sky and Kozar Dance Theater, we prepared an 11-minute multimedia performance that beautifully paired holographic visuals with choreography. Front Pictures was in charge of the graphics production and VFX. We also helped incorporate and synchronize a stage lift with visual playback to allow performers to appear to magically hover above the stage.

Impact

The multimedia show received the Platinum Winner award in the Hermes Creative Awards 2017 and ‘Best Mapping With Human Interaction’ in Visual Artists Awards 2018. The performance was also selected for display at the LUMA Projection Arts Festival in Binghamton, NY, United States.

The Aditya Birla Group established the Awards for Outstanding Achievement to recognize superior teamwork and draw attention to the long-term inspirational value of its employees. More than 150 awards are personally handed, annually, to the winners by the Group’s Chairman.

For the 2016 awards ceremony, event organizer Fountainhead MKTG commissioned Freckled Sky, Front Pictures, and Kozar Dance Theater to prepare a lavish, large-scale performance that celebrates the human ability to overcome any challenge.

With the help of holographic visuals, Front Pictures created a mythological world inhabited by ancient gods and magic. In the story, the hero overcomes numerous obstacles on the way to accomplishing his dream. Our team was also responsible for video engineering. The holographic projections were powered by a Screenberry Media Server.
