Brief
Roshen Corporation, one of the world’s largest confectionery manufacturers, tasked Front Pictures with developing a series of mapping shows for the facade of its reconstructed nineteenth-century factory. Named Roshen Plaza, the public space was designed with the ambition of becoming a new cultural landmark in Ukraine’s capital.
Execution
Our team developed a creative concept called “Main clock in the city.” The key idea was to transform the confectionary factory facade into a giant clock mechanism that tells stories with help of projection mapping. Every story was tailored for a different audience and age group not just by its message, but also by its visual style and technique. Overall, our team produced six main shows as well as multiple seasonal mini shows and animated backgrounds.
Impact
Roshen Plaza with its 100-meter mapped facade is the biggest permanent projection mapping site in Ukraine. It quickly became a prominent part of Kyiv’s cultural and recreational life as well as one of most instagrammable places in the city. The program is being constantly expanded with new shows.
